CGF cuts number of compulsory sports from 2026 in major revamp

The Commonwealth Games Federation has unveiled an extensive overhaul of its showpiece event that will see only athletics and aquatics retained as proposed compulsory sports from its 2026 edition in a blow to non-Olympic sports such as lawn bowls, netball and squash.
