Celtics co-owner Pagliuca leads $556m Atalanta takeover

Atalanta has become the latest Lega Serie A club to secure American investment, with Boston Celtics co-owner Stephen Pagliuca leading a takeover of the Italian organization.

A group of investors led by Pagliuca, the managing partner of the National Basketball Association's Celtics and co-chairman of Boston-based private equity firm Bain Capital, has acquired a 55 per cent stake in La Dea, the Atalanta parent company which owns around around 86 per cent of the club.
