Brazilian football club Ceará has signed up gambling firm EstadiumBet as its new front-of-shirt sponsor.

The deal will run until December 2021 and will provide the brand with logo visibility on the front of the club’s playing shirts, as well as its training and travel wear.

EstadiumBet will also be granted exposure on interview backdrops and signage at Ceará’s stadium.

The brand used a cryptic social media post from the club’s striker Rafael Sobis to herald the new shirt deal. It spread an audio of the striker implying he may be moving clubs, stating it was a “matter of time” that he would wear a new shirt via WhatsApp to drive interest from Ceará’s fans.

He then posted on Instagram with the message: “Sorry, crowd of Vozão, I didn’t want you to know that way.”

The contract builds on EstadiumBet’s existing presence in Brazilian football. It also holds the front-of-shirt sponsor designation at fellow Brazilian Série A side Atlético-GO, and third-tier club Santa Cruz.
