Cayette becomes first Black woman to hold NBA team CCO role with Cavs promotion

The Cleveland Cavaliers have promoted Shelly Cayette to become the the team's executive vice president and chief commercial officer, becoming the first Black woman to hold this role with a National Basketball Association team.

Cayette most recently served as the Cavs' senior vice president of global partnerships, where she led revenue and commercial development and growth in multiple areas of the franchise.

In her new role, Cayette will oversee corporate and ticket sales revenue and strategy, corporate partnerships, as well as youth sports programs and membership sales and service, including premium, group, and individual ticket platforms.

The former New Orleans Hornets executive will also oversee all revenue generation from corporate partners and ticket sales and service across the Rock Entertainment Group family of teams and properties, which also includes the Cleveland Charge (NBA G League), Cavs Legion GC (NBA 2K League), and Cleveland Monsters (American Hockey League).
