The Bundesliga, Germany’s top football division, exceeded total revenues of over €4bn ($4.26bn) for the first time in 2018-19, according to the 2020 DFL Economic Report, which was released today (Tuesday).
The 18 clubs from the top-tier Bundesliga generated combined turnover of €4.02bn, a growth of 5.4 per cent over the previous season’s figure. The second-tier 2. Bundesliga, meanwhile, also posted record revenues, with its clubs posting a rise of 28.5 per cent, to €782m.
