Consortiums led by British businessman Sir Martin Broughton and Todd Boehly, co-owner of Major League Baseball team the Los Angeles Dodgers, have emerged as frontrunners in the race to buy English Premier League football club Chelsea.

Merchant bank the Raine Group, which has been engaged to oversee the sale process from Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich, has informed the two groups that they will progress to the “next stage” of the process, according to The Guardian.
