Brooklyn Nets and Juventus team up for Barclays Center watch party

Italian Serie A side Juventus and National Basketball Association (NBA) team the Brooklyn Nets have come together to create a Juventus-themed night.

The Nets’ Barclays Center arena will be decorated in Juventus’s distinctive branding for their game against the Toronto Raptors on December 7. Nets fans will also be invited to a watch party for Juventus’s Serie A fixture against Inter Milan which will be shown on screens in the Brooklyn arena.

The move is in step with Juventus’s efforts to build an international fanbase. In 2017, the team created a new logo to help project itself as a global brand while it claims to have 334 million “followers” around the world. A Nielsen Sports survey in 2017 ranked it fourth among European clubs for growth in global fan numbers.

Both Juventus and the Nets play in play in black and white so the overlay will not be too much of a departure for the New York team.
