Brazilian justice ministry investigates betting sponsorship contracts

Brazil’s Ministry of Justice has ordered football clubs, federations and the broadcaster Globo to submit their advertising and sponsorship contracts with sports betting operators for scrutiny amid concerns over their legality.

The notification, sent on Tuesday, August 30, aims to determine which betting companies have formalised contracts with the 54 organisations, mostly football clubs, at the centre of the information request.
