Billionaire businessman Todd Boehly and retail executive Jennifer Tepper Mackesy are heading an investment group that has entered into exclusive negotiations to secure a controlling interest in the National Women's Soccer League's Washington Spirit.
Boehly is part-owner of the National Basketball Association’s Los Angeles Lakers and Major League Baseball’s Los Angeles Dodgers, and also recently led an acquisition of Illinois-based ticket marketplace Vivid Seats. Mackesy is a former collegiate soccer player at William & Mary and sits on the board of US Squash.
