BMW becomes latest Formula E founding partner to exit series

BMW has joined fellow German automotive manufacturer Audi in ending its involvement in the Formula E electric car-racing series.

BMW has been a partner of the series since it launched seven years ago but the company has decided to leave at the end of the current season, stating it has “essentially exhausted the opportunities” for e-drivetrains in the competitive environment of Formula E.
