Birmingham secures 2026 European Athletics Championships

The UK will host the European Athletics Championships for the first time after hosting rights to the 2026 edition were awarded to the English city of Birmingham.

Working in partnership with Birmingham City Council and UK Sport, UK Athletics (UKA) had targeted Europe’s most prestigious European athletics competition, seven years on from staging the 2019 European Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow.
