The Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games is “likely to exceed” its ticketing revenue target but will fall short of its top-tier sponsorship goal, the chief executive of the organising committee has said.
Speaking to SportBusiness during the International Sports Convention at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, Ian Reid said ticket sales for the quadrennial event have reached 1.1 million – and organisers are confident of selling the remaining 500,000 tickets before the beginning of the two-week event on July 28.
