Bears’ bid for Arlington Racecourse seen as negotiating tactic

The National Football League's Chicago Bears are potentially paving the way to leave their longtime home Soldier Field after submitting a bid to purchase the Arlington International Racecourse property.

Churchill Downs, which owns and operates the racetrack, announced last year that it would put Arlington Park up for sale for redevelopment opportunities.
