Barry Hearn retires as Matchroom Sport chairman, to be replaced by son Eddie

Barry Hearn is to step down as chairman of the Matchroom Sport agency and associated companies with son Eddie Hearn to assume the role.

The 72-year-old Hearn, who founded Matchroom in 1982, is to become president of the Matchroom Sport Group of companies in an advisory role primarily focused on event strategy and global development.
