Barnsley seeking to terminate sponsorship deal with crypto website Hex.com

English football club Barnsley is seeking to terminate its front-of-shirt sponsorship agreement with cryptocurrency website Hex.com following a backlash from supporters of the League One side.

Barnsley announced a season-long deal with the website, which promotes the Hex cryptocurrency token, last week. The tie-up drew criticism from supporters after homophobic social media posts from two individuals named by Hex.com spokesman Brent Morrissey as being involved in brokering the deal were uncovered.
