Dan Barnett has joined English Premier League football club Leicester City as its new commercial director after leaving his role as chief marketing and commercial officer of U.S. Ski & Snowboard last month.

Barnett joins Leicester with the club currently riding high in fourth place in the Premier League table. The British executive had worked at U.S. Ski & Snowboard in Park City, Utah since June 2017 and a succession plan was announced for him last month.

U.S. Ski & Snowboard appointed Andy McKeon as chief marketing officer, a position in which he will lead a ‘mini-agency’ following the merger of the organisation’s content, creative and communications groups.

The Australian executive will oversee U.S. Ski & Snowboard’s marketing, communications, and partner support, assuming these roles as Barnett returned to the UK.

Prior to U.S. Ski & Snowboard, Barnett served as chief commercial officer for the America’s Cup from September 2013 to June 2017, and before that senior legal and business affairs counsel for the sailing event from August 2011.

His new role at Leicester marks a return to football after serving as a commercial lawyer for European governing body Uefa from July 2009 to July 2011.
