Thomas Bach has been confirmed as the president of the International Olympic Committee for a second term after being re-elected unopposed at the 137th IOC Session today.
Of the 98 votes cast, 93 were in favour of re-election, with four abstentions and just a single vote against. Bach will serve a final four-year term which begins at the close of this summer’s Olympic Games in Tokyo, having initially taken up the reins of the governing body in September 2013.
