Australian Open vows ‘world’s strictest’ Covid-19 rules

Health authorities in the state of Victoria have announced stringent quarantine protocols for tennis players and their support teams for the Australian Open in Melbourne next month.

According to Victorian Police and Emergency Services Minister Lisa Neville, the 1,200 players, support staff and officials will be subjected to the "strictest rules for that apply for tennis across the world", when they arrive in Australia from January 15 for the season’s first Grand Slam.
