ATP to make a decision on Chinese events in ‘coming month’

The ATP men’s tennis tour is unlikely to host the Shanghai Masters and three other tournaments in China this September and October unless the Covid-19 situation improves in the country, according to chairman Andrea Gaudenzi.

China continues to operate strict health protocols in response to the pandemic with most global sporting events scheduled for this year having been cancelled or postponed. Beijing hosted the Winter Olympics in February albeit under carefully controlled conditions.
