The ATP and WTA men’s and women’s tennis tours have agreed to sanction IMG’s acquisition of the Mutua Madrid Open ATP 1000 tennis tournament on the condition that it divests its ownership of the Rio Open ATP 500 and WTA event.

The Endeavor-owned agency announced today (Friday) that it had completed the purchase of the Spanish tournament, as well as golf’s Acciona Open de España (Spanish Open) from Super Slam Ltd and its affiliates.
