Brazilian football club Atlético Mineiro has signed up online gambling brand to its sponsorship portfolio.
The deal will run until the end of 2021 and affords the brand’s logo a presence on the back of the shorts of the club’s kit.
In addition, the club’s fans will be granted benefits when using Betsul’s gambling services.
Pedro Melo, Atlético Mineiro’s sponsorship manager, said: “Betsul decided to support the team at an important moment for the club and we count on the participation of our fans to activate this association.”
Fernando Rivas, chief executive of Betsul, said: ”We are going to take advantage of our creativity to contribute to the finances of the club through marketing campaigns.”
Following the launch of the sponsorship, a promotional campaign was launched in which the first 300 customers that were fans of the club were entered into a draw to win one of five shirts signed by the team’s players.
Atlético Mineiro’s kit sponsorship portfolio is headlined by Meu Galo BMG, a digital bank created for the team’s fans by and Brazilian bank BMG, the club’s main sponsor.
In January 2020, the club added real estate business Multimarcas Consórcios as shoulder sponsor.
