LaLiga’s Atlético Madrid has added cyber security specialists Acronis to its sponsorship portfolio. As part of the deal, the brand will provide its data protection and analysis services to the club.
The club moved in to its Wanda Metrapolitano stadium at the start of the 2018-19 season and René Abril, director of technology and digital development, highlighted the importance of the agreement in regard to the new venue. He said: ”We have a new stadium where sensorisation and data generation is one of the pillars of our transformation plan.
”Acronis offers us the security of having our data protected against any threat.”
For Acronis, the agreement continues to develop its presence in the football market, following the news of its contract with Serie A side AS Roma.
It also holds deals with Premier League clubs Liverpool and Arsenal.
Atlético Madrid’s main sponsor designation is currently held by finanical services brand Plus500.
The club recently extended with health brand Herbalife as front-of-shirt sponsor of its Women’s team.
