Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens, the co-owners of Premier League club Aston Villa, have announced that their holding company V Sports has purchased a 46-per-cent stake in Portuguese Primeira Liga club Vitória de Guimaraes.
In a statement, Aston Villa said that the investment, which still requires ratification by Vitória club members, "signals an important step forward in the global expansion of the V Sports portfolio".
