Andalucía claims extension to Seville’s Copa del Rey hosting deal

The Junta de Andalucía has announced it has secured a one-season extension to its long-term deal with the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) to host the final of the Copa del Rey at the Estadio de la Cartuja in Seville.

The autonomous community’s Minister of Education and Sports, Manuel Alejandro Cardenete, speaking at an event promoting the staging of the 2022 Uefa Europa League final on May 18 at Estadio Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, home of LaLiga club Sevilla, disclosed that Estadio de la Cartuja will now host five Copa del Rey finals, adding that the events are set to generate a total economic impact of more than €165m ($176.3m).
