America’s Cup sanctioning deal signed following World Sailing CEO spat

World Sailing, the sport’s international governing body, and Emirates Team New Zealand, the defender of the America’s Cup, have announced a sanctioning agreement for the 2021 edition in Auckland.

News of the agreement comes just weeks after Emirates Team New Zealand accused Andy Hunt, World Sailing’s chief executive, of “circumventing the process by contacting the New Zealand government.”
