American football to discuss Olympic prospects

The International Federation of Football (IFAF) will reportedly meet with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) within the next 45 days to discuss a future bid to become an Olympic sport, according to FOXSports.com.

A statement released by IFAF read: “American football’s burgeoning international athlete participation and appeal continues to propel the game on an exciting upward path.

“IFAF and the world’s American football family have great reason to remain inspired and energised by our ongoing dialogue with IOC leadership.”

Meanwhile, the IOC is due to announce the sport(s) to be included from the 2020 Games onwards later today.
