“As part of the cooperation, the main thrust will be to develop young talent,” an Ajax spokesman said.
The team is one of the best known in Ghana and won the African equivalent of the Champions League in 1997. So far this year it is in second place among Ghanaian teams.
It was founded with employees from Ashanti Goldfields, the biggest gold mine in Africa.
Shell Ghana has agreed to be the main sponsor and strategic partner of the team, Ajax said.
