AC Milan launches new app with live stream of friendly

Italian Serie A football club AC Milan has launched a new mobile application, claiming it will set a first for the domestic game by offering a free live stream of today’s (Monday’s) friendly match at Serie C outfit Cesena.

The app initially launches for iOS devices in Italian and English, aiming to offer an immersive experience through live events, exclusive content, daily news and updates, as well as integrated ticket and merchandise stores. An Android version will be released ahead of the start of the 2019-20 Serie A season on Saturday.

One of the main features of the app is that it is designed to enhance the live matchday experience for all AC Milan supporters, providing them with official line-ups, player stats, live blogging, updates and alerts. This feature also gives fans the opportunity to vote for the Most Valuable Player of the match.

The app will deliver exclusive content and behind-the-scenes access, as well as offering links for fans to buy matchday tickets and official merchandise through direct access to the club’s online store.

Casper Stylsvig, AC Milan’s chief revenue officer, said: “There will be further developments over the coming months that will allow the club to improve the level of service and satisfaction for both fans and commercial partners.”

Lamberto Siega, the club’s marketing and digital director, added: “The key focus is to provide our fans with a hub that offers an immersive and exclusive experience. This will allow us to know our fans better through data, which in turn means offering them a more relevant and personalised experience.”
