Roman Abramovich has denied reports that he asked for a £1.6bn (€1.8bn/$2bn) loan to Chelsea to be repaid as a condition of the club’s sale, and says he remains committed to funds from the sale being transferred to a charitable foundation.

Abramovich put the Premier League club up for sale in March, shortly before he was sanctioned by the UK government following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
