The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has pledged to support peace talks between North and South Korea.

North and South Korea will compete as one nation during the semi-final of the ongoing World Team Table Tennis Championships in Halmstad, Sweden after informing organisers that they did not want to face off against each other in the quarter-finals.

Seven South Korean sports federations are considering the prospect of forming joint teams with North Korea for the 2018 Asian Games following the landmark summit meeting held between the two countries on Friday, but football is unlikely to be one of them.
