Fuji TV acquires Volleyball World Cup rights

The Fédération Internationale de Volleyball, the sport’s world governing body, has extended its exclusive domestic rights deal with Japanese commercial broadcaster Fuji TV.

The deal will run for eight years, from 2013 to 2020.

The agreement is part of a broader marketing and event-hosting deal that will allow the Japan Volleyball Association, the sport’s governing body in Japan, to host the Volleyball World Cup national team tournament in 2015 and 2019.

In March 2012, volleyball’s global governing body appointed the IMG Media and Dentsu agencies to market worldwide media rights for its events in an eight-year deal, from 2013 to 2020.
