Big 12 agrees new deal with ESPN

US sports broadcaster ESPN has verbally agreed a new 13-year deal with college sports conference the Big 12 covering the period 2013 to 2025.

The deal replaces an existing agreement between the two companies that was not due to expire until 2016. The Big 12 also has an existing deal with the Fox Network until 2025.

The renegotiated deal will bring the Big 12’s total income across the two deals to $2.6 billion (€1.98 billion) over the next 13 years, or $200 million per year. It is thought the $2.6 billion will be split equally by ESPN and Fox.
