The Golden Ticket

The eight sports bidding to join the Olympic Movement will present their cases to the IOC (International Olympic Committee) today.

Wrestling, wushu, karate, sport climbing, wakeboarding, squash, roller sport and baseball/softball have each got 30 minutes this afternoon to convince the Olympic Games’ decision makers that their sport should be included on the 2020 Games schedule.

A press briefing has been scheduled for this evening when the IOC will announce which sports have made it onto its shortlist for the final vote in Buenos Aires this September.

Over the past three months we have spoken to the respective leaders from each candidate sport, provided a statistical analysis on their bids and asked experts such as former IOC marketing and broadcasting director, Michael Payne, and sports marketing veteran, Patrick Nally, to predict the outcome.
