Veqta to launch OTT sports service in India

Digital media company Veqta has unveiled plans to launch an OTT sports service in India.

The service will launch next month, with the venture then rolling out content in a variety of regional languages.

Veqta plans to provide some of the content for free and premium content on-demand, according to the Indian Television news website.

Veqta ‎co-founder and director Varun Mathur said that the service would specialise in providing short-form video content, as well as live streaming of sports matches and events in sports such as cricket, football, motorsports, Olympic sports and tennis.

Veqta has raised $500,000 (€450,000) in seed funding for the venture from investment vehicle Chatsworth Management and sports management company ITW Consulting.
