Sky snaps up Serie B rights

Italian pay-television broadcaster Sky Italia has acquired domestic rights for Serie B, the second division of football in the country.

The exclusive deal will run for three years, from 2015-16 to 2017-18. Sky outbid pay-television broadcaster Mediaset Premium.

The Lega also revealed the bidders for the international rights to the Copa and Supercoppa knockout competitions for the same three-year period.

Bids have been lodged by media company beIN IP and the IMG, B4 Capital and Futmedia Gestion de Derechos agencies. The Lega will consider the bids before awarding the rights.
