Thirty cities out of an original list of 150 have made the cut to be considered the SportBusiness Ultimate Sports City of 2016.

Representing all the continents in the world, the shortlist includes many candidates that have featured in the five previous editions between 2006 and 2014, as well as some interesting new entrants.

Reigning 2014 Ultimate Sports City London will once again be challenged by Melbourne, which won the coveted title in 2006, 2008 and 2010, as well as by Amsterdam, Auckland, Baku, Beijing, Berlin, Calgary, Copenhagen, Doha, Dubai, Glasgow, Kazan, Kuala Lumpur, Manchester, Moscow, New York, Paris, PyeongChang, Rio de Janeiro, Singapore, Sochi, Sydney, Tokyo and Vancouver.
