Scottish Rugby toasts extended beer partnership

Scottish Rugby, the governing body of rugby union in Scotland, has extended its partnership with national brewery Tennent Caledonian.

The deal will run for three years, from 2016 through to 2018.

Under the agreement, the brewery’s ‘Caledonia Best’ ale will continue to serve as the official beer of the Scottish national team as well as the Edinburgh Rugby and Glasgow Warriors club sides.

The Caledonia Best brand will also continue to take part in a range of promotions and match-day activities, as well as maintain its support of grassroots rugby union in the country.

In addition, Caledonia Best has pledged to subsidise travel for more than 1,000 Edinburgh Rugby and Glasgow Warriors fans for the 1872 Scottish Cup derby, an annual tournament contested between the two teams.

The extended partnership will also allow Tennent Caledonian brands Tennent’s Lager, Black T and Magners Ice Cold to continue to be poured at Murrayfield, Scotland's national rugby union stadium.
