Sauber brokers CNBC partnership

Formula One motor racing team Sauber has entered into a partnership with global business and financial news broadcaster CNBC.

Under the terms of the deal, CNBC has been named a premium partner of the team for the 2016 Formula One season.

As part of the agreement, Sauber will display the channel’s branding on the rear wing end plates of its cars, on its drivers’ overalls and on official team clothing.

Though the partnership doesn’t officially become effective until next year, CNBC’s logo will be visible on the team’s cars at this weekend’s season-closing Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

“This partnership joins two organisations with strong heritage and exceptional ambition,” KC Sullivan, president and managing director of CNBC International, said. “Working with Sauber F1 Team, CNBC is joining a family of professionals and corporate partners committed to the standards of excellence and performance that elite sports demand.”

The deal marks the first time Sauber has partnered with an international broadcaster.
