QTS signs up for Scottish League Cup finale

Transport, utilities and private construction business QTS Group has reached a deal with the Scottish Professional Football League to serve as the presenting sponsor for the closing stages of its 2014-15 League Cup club competition.

The agreement covers the tournament’s semi-finals – Dundee United v Aberdeen and Celtic v Rangers on January 31 and February 1 respectively – and the March 15 final. All three matches will be played at Glasgow’s Hampden Park – Scotland’s national stadium.

The SPFL’s partnership with QTS will be launched in early January through a month-long marketing campaign to build towards the two semi-finals.

Financial terms for the sponsorship were not announced, although UK broadcaster the BBC said the deal is worth in the region of £100,000 (€126,000/$156,000) to the SPFL.

The competition will be officially known as the Scottish League Cup presented by QTS, having previously been sponsored by the Scottish government as the Scottish Communities League Cup for the past two seasons.
