Polish pay-television broadcasters Cyfrowy Polsat and Telewizja Polsat have been asked to provide information about their activities in relation to coverage of the ongoing Uefa Euro 2016 national team football tournament by the president of Poland’s Office of Competition and Consumer Protection.
The issues include the quality of online coverage, free-to-air channels becoming unavailable and the rates charged for viewing matches.
The office said that it initiated the move after receiving complaints from consumers.
The office added that it is investigating whether Cyfrowy Polsat has been misleading consumers by claiming to have a complete range of their sports channels will mean free access to coverage of every Euro 2016 game.
A spokesperson for Cyfrowy Polsat said that the problems were only affecting a small number of customers. “The vast majority of our customers are satisfied with the services,” he added.
