NBA’s Warriors partner with Accenture to aid arena development

Professional services group Accenture has signed on as a founding partner of Chase Center, the future home of the Golden State Warriors, as part of a sponsorship deal with the NBA basketball franchise that will focus on enhancing the in-arena experience for fans.

Accenture has agreed a multi-year deal with the Warriors and will serve as the team’s official technology innovation partner.

The company will work with the Warriors to develop in-arena fan engagement initiatives at Oracle Arena, the team’s current home, and Chase Center, which is scheduled to open in time for the start of the 2019-20 NBA season.

The two parties will collaborate to define and create the underlying technical architecture and assemble a range of partners needed to implement the experience design for Chase Center. Fan engagement initiatives will be trialled at Oracle Arena before being used at Chase Center.

Warriors supporters will be encouraged to put forward their own ideas as part of the ‘Fannovate’ fan-involvement initiative.

Julie Sweet, Accenture’s group chief executive in North America, said: “We will work hand-in-hand with the Warriors, as well as Fannovate participants, to define and enable an unparalleled set of experiences.”
