Mitsubishi Motors, the automotive manufacturing arm of Japan’s Mitsubishi Group, has entered into a partnership with Scottish Rugby.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it was confirmed that the partnership will come into effect from May, with Mitsubishi to serve as an official partner of the country’s national governing body of rugby union.
Mitsubishi will also become title sponsor of Scottish Rugby’s Schools and Youth Conference programme, while the company's franchise dealer network will work with grassroots clubs on a number of other projects.
In addition, Mitsubishi will provide a fleet of vehicles to support Scottish Rugby’s network of development staff across the country.
Mitsubishi has already established a presence in the rugby union market through commercial partnerships with the England Rugby national governing body, as well as English Premiership club Gloucester Rugby and Scottish team Edinburgh Rugby.
