Lyon breaks new ground with 24Option.com deal

Binary options broker 24Option.com has struck a deal to become an official partner of French Ligue 1 football club Olympique Lyonnais.

The agreement will run for two years, from the 2015-16 season through to 2016-17.

Under the deal, brokered by the Sportfive agency, 24Option branding will appear on the sleeves of Lyon’s playing shirts. The agreement is said to represent the first online trading deal in French sport.

Through the agreement, 24Option will also benefit from branding placement on LED signage inside the team’s Stade de Gerland home stadium as well as on official club communication materials.

Emma Morris, director of partnerships at 24Option, said: “The club offers us a unique platform to target the French market and we’re anticipating a successful partnership.”

The deal comes almost one year after 24Option entered into a two-year partnership with Italian Serie A champion Juventus – a deal that runs until the end of the 2015-16 season.
