ITF serves renewal with main partner BNP Paribas

The International Tennis Federation has extended its long-term association with French financial services company BNP Paribas, its main partner.

The new five-year deal will begin in 2017 and conclude at the end of the 2021 tennis season.

As part of the agreement, BNP Paribas will retain its title sponsorship of the Davis Cup and Fed Cup men’s and women’s national team tournaments, which are operated by the ITF.

It will also sponsor the junior editions of the two events, as well as ITF wheelchair tennis activities and the Worldwide Coaches Conference, which takes place every two years.

The announcement comes ahead of the Davis Cup final between Belgium and Great Britain in Ghent this weekend. The formal signing of the contract will take place in the Belgian city on Saturday.

ITF president David Haggerty said: “BNP Paribas is an excellent strategic partner and, with this renewal of our contract, we will take Davis Cup by BNP Paribas and Fed Cup by BNP Paribas and our other properties to new levels of global popularity and success.”

Jean-Laurent Bonnafé, BNP Paribas chief executive, added: “For BNP Paribas, this partnership is a fantastic support for the visibility of our brand and the relationship with our clients.”

BNP Paribas took on title sponsorship of the Davis Cup in 2002 and the Fed Cup in 2005.
