Formula E partners up with Facebook, ESPN Player and Snapchat for season finale

The Formula E electric car-racing championship has agreed content partnerships with digital streaming service ESPN Player and social media platforms Facebook and Snapchat for its final rounds of the 2015-16 season in London.

In tandem with social video production company Grabyo, Formula E will live stream its London ePrix directly to Facebook in 20 markets across the world. These territories are: Czech Republic, Austria, Republic of Korea, Israel, Singapore, Malaysia, India, Croatia, Slovakia, Romania, Ukraine, Russia, Switzerland, Spain, Pakistan, Belgium, Indonesia, Monaco, Morocco and Ireland.

In addition to the live streaming of free practice sessions, qualifying and the races, which will include full commentary and graphics, Formula E will use Grabyo throughout the race weekend to live broadcast a fan chat-show – ‘Chat-E’ – directly from the pit lane as well as several esports events from Formula E’s virtual championship, Race Off Pro Series.

Meanwhile, ESPN Player will deliver live and on-demand coverage of the final race of the Formula E season to fans in the Middle East, North Africa and Europe including the markets of Russia, Ukraine, Czech Republic and Slovakia.

In addition, Formula E has said its 2015-16 season finale will be covered as a Live Story on Snapchat. London hosts back-to-back rounds on July 2-3 with Sunday’s event set to be the first round of the all-electric championship to be covered in this way.

Formula E’s Live Story will be curated by Snapchat and will provide a mix of fan-submitted Snaps and official inside-access content.
