Fifa launches rights tenders in Russia, sub-Saharan Africa

World football’s governing body Fifa has opened invitation to tender proceedings in Russia and sub-Saharan Africa for the 2017 Confederations Cup and 2018 World Cup.

The Russian tender process will cover television, internet and mobile rights to the two tournaments, which the country is hosting. Fifa said bidders may also indicate an interest in the media rights for Qatar’s 2022 World Cup and submit independent unconditional bids for such rights.

Following a question-and-answer period running from today (Monday) to November 18, submissions to Fifa must be received by 5pm CET on November 24. Negotiations with shortlisted bidders will commence on November 25.

The ITT in sub-Saharan Africa covers media rights to all Fifa events in 2017 and 2018 across television, IPTV, internet and mobile.

Following a question-and-answer period, which commences today, submissions to Fifa must be received by 5pm CET on November 18. Negotiations with shortlisted bidders will commence from November 21.
