Ferrari locks down Kaspersky Lab extension

Russian cybersecurity company Kaspersky Lab has agreed a five-year extension to its sponsorship deal with Formula One motor racing team Ferrari.

The partnership first began in 2010, with the new contract taking in the 2017 to 2021 Formula One seasons.

Kaspersky Lab is listed as one of Ferrari’s top-tier official sponsors alongside Alfa Romeo, Santander, Shell, UPS, Weichai, Hublot, Claro and TNT.

Along with sponsoring the Ferrari F1 team, Kaspersky Lab has developed Kaspersky Motorsport with the help of the Italian marque.

Kaspersky Motorsport encompasses all of Kaspersky Lab’s activities in the field: from entering motorsport championships and supporting talented young drivers to implementing its vision of car security.

Since 2013, the partnership has deepened with Ferrari choosing Kaspersky Lab to provide it with a complete range of IT security measures.

The new deal was announced today (Thursday) ahead of this weekend’s Russian Grand Prix in Sochi.
