Eurovision strikes ski coverage deal with Sportsnet

Eurovision, the television producer operated by the European Broadcasting Union, and Alpine Canada, the country's national governing body for alpine skiing, have struck a rights deal with Canadian pay-television broadcaster Rogers Sportsnet.

Sportsnet will broadcast live coverage of the International Ski Federation’s ongoing Ski World Cup and the 2015 edition of the governing body’s Alpine World Ski Championships.

Coverage will be shown on Sportsnet in Canada, covering the Pacific, West, Ontario and East regions of the country.

Coverage will begin with the SuperG and Hahnenkamm Downhill FIS World Cup events in Austria from tomorrow (Friday). The FIS Alpine World Ski Championships will run from February 3-15 in Colorado, US.

Eurovision is the worldwide media rights distributor for the FIS World Cups in Austria as well as 2015 and 2017 editions of the FIS Alpine and Nordic World Championships.

Eurovision will also manage the host broadcasting operation for the 2015 Alpine championships in Colorado through its Eurovision Production Coordination division.
