Dogus Group teams up with Euroleague for socially-focused partnership

Turkish private-sector conglomerate Dogus Group has agreed a commercial partnership with Euroleague Basketball.

The three-year deal will span the 2015-16 to 2017-18 seasons of the pan-European club basketball league.

Dogus Group will benefit from pan-European and regional sponsorship exposure for a number of its companies in association with the top-tier Euroleague and second-tier Eurocup competitions.

There will be a strong emphasis on community initiatives and social programmes, with Dogus Group’s financial services, automotive, construction, media, tourism, real estate, energy and entertainment divisions all set to be involved.

“We are very proud to partner with Dogus Group, which has shown its great commitment to community values and to basketball,” Jordi Bertomeu, Euroleague Basketball’s president and chief executive, said. “This deal will boost the impact of Euroleague's social programmes and will also contribute to the growth of the sport at an international level.”

Dogus Group chief soft power officer Semih Yalman added: “This is another major step for us on an international platform, and we intend to communicate more effectively with our stakeholders. We believe that the cooperation will add value to Turkish and European basketball, and hope that the collaboration is long-lasting and successful for both parties.  This will also enable us to take the Stay in the Game platform, a Şahenk initiative that is appreciated by Euroleague and provides opportunities to the youth, abroad.”
