The Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (Concacaf) has reached an agreement with Twitter for the social media platform to stream live coverage of the final of its 2016-17 Champions League club competition.
Twitter will stream the match between Liga MX sides Tigres UANL and Pachuca today (Wednesday) from 10pm EST.
The final will be available in English to logged-in and logged-out Twitter users via Concacaf’s official account in the United States and Canada, as well as all other countries and territories outside Latin America.
Concacaf said the match is set to mark the first time a global football championship has been streamed live via Twitter. Coverage will include the final’s pre-game show from 9:30pm EST.
Twitter will also stream coverage of the knockout rounds and final of Concacaf’s men’s U17 Championship national team tournament, which is currently ongoing in Panama. Coverage of the event will be streamed in territories worldwide outside the Caribbean.
